SPINE OSTEOARTHRITIS

COMMON SIGNS AND SYMPTOMS

LUMBAR OSTEOARTHRITIS

Lower back pain is the predominant symptom. It may be constant or triggered by exercise or specific postures (standing, lying down, or sitting).
Pain can be localized or radiate to the sides or lower limbs, indicating nerve involvement. Movement restrictions in flexion, extension, or rotation are also common.

CERVICAL OSTEOARTHRITIS

The main symptom is chronic pain located in the neck that radiates to the head or upper limbs. There may be difficulty in neck movements, dizziness and impairment of hand sensitivity

OUR METHOD

THE TREATMENT

Moviglia Method therapy is a simple and effective procedure completed in a single outpatient visit. Here’s a step-by-step guide to what patients can expect:

EVALUATION PRE-TREATMENT

Clinical evaluation is complemented by imaging and neurophysiological studies such as:

MRI of the spine: creates detailed images of bones and soft tissues. The soft tissues include the disks, the spinal cord, and the nerves coming from the spinal cord, muscles, tissue, tendons, nerves, ligaments, and blood vessels.

CT scans of the spine complement the MRI and show the shape and position of the bones of the spine very accurately

Nerve studies. Electromyography (EMG) measures the electrical impulses produced by the nerves and how the muscles respond to them. This test can confirm pressure on the nerves caused by herniated disks or narrowing of the spinal canal, called spinal stenosis.

HARVESTING

Two types of cells are needed for the treatment: stem cells and tissue-specific effector lymphocytes. The stem cells are extracted from subcutaneous fat, which is done by performing a micro liposuction procedure that only needs local anesthesia. Immune cells are obtained from the patient’s peripheral blood.

CELL PROCESSING

The collected fat is processed to isolate and expand the stem cells.
The combination of the stem cells and the tissue specific effector lymphocytes facilitates the pre differentiation of the stem cells into the specific cells that the tissue needs to repair the damage.

CELL APPLICATION

The combination of stem cells and tissue specific lymphocytes are injected into the affected intervertebral discs. The procedure is performed in a CT scanner or under fluoroscopic guidance.
Most patients can quickly return to their usual routines with minimal interruption. A slight swelling or mild discomfort at the injection site may occur but typically resolve within a few days, allowing for a smooth recovery.

RESULTS

Patients will normally start seeing improvements 3-4 weeks after treatment. This means less pain and better movement. Most people only need to be treated once. Control images are obtained 1 year after surgery to assess tissue healing. If it is necessary, a booster of the treatment can be done.

OUR METHOD

Our Therapy offers a range of benefits, including its minimally invasive nature, rapid recovery time, and potential to support the body’s natural healing processes. By utilizing the patient’s own regenerative cells, this treatment promotes tissue repair and may help reduce pain and inflammation in the affected joint.
